Ministry, firm boost 3MTT programme

Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme has received a boost with participants set to receive some 1,144 devices.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, who announced the latest development, yesterday, said the 3MTT programme of the government, in partnership with HerTechHub, would give out 370 laptops and 774 tablets to female participants of the programme.


According to the minister, the partnership is part of activities to mark the 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD).

He described HerTechHub as an initiative of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Women Affairs, Fatima Abubakar-Faruk.

Announcing this on his X handle, Tijani said the over 540,000 women in the 3MTT learning community were invited to participate in two challenges that would be organised by HerTechHub to stand a chance of winning a device.

He said everyone, who applied for the 3MTT programme is a member of the learning community of the programme.

Tijani said: “I’m a big advocate of female participation in the workforce, especially in technology, and as we build up to International Women’s Day 2024, I am pleased to announce a collaboration between our @3MTTNigeria programme and HerTechHub, an initiative of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Women Affairs, Fatima Abubakar-Faruk.”
